Our Accomplishments
Here's just a small sampling of the ways that we have helped our community.
Advocacy
Recognizing the need for strong, well-informed, and community-oriented candidates for the 2024 SCOV Board election, CREW members researched all board candidates and identified two who stood out as having strong community values and extensive experience. Subsequently, CREW worked diligently to support their campaign, which was ultimately successful.
Grass-Roots Community Building
CREW members developed relationships with residents to bring the community together to mobilize, support, and foster honest, fact-based information regarding the activities and actions of the HOA Board, HOA Committees, and SCOV management.
Conflict Resolution
CREW promotes and follows best practices to address conflict by first working with those directly knowledgeable and involved in the conflict. If the issue is unresolved in a reasonable time frame, then following established step-by-step actions, which could ultimately lead to the Board of Directors, may be necessary. Respect and civility are practiced and expected from all people.
Community Engagement
CREW encourages SCOV residents to understand the specific scope and importance of individual SCOV committees, the Board of Directors, which is all volunteers, and the professional leaders responsible for SCOV's administration. Active participation in SCOV Committees and attendance at HOA Board and Committee meetings is encouraged.
Encouraging Civility
CREW encourages SCOV residents to reflect an honest, positive, and supportive attitude about our community to their friends and neighbors and on social media. Courtesy and professionalism are fundamental.
Research and Truth Finding
CREW has promoted fact-based discourse on current issues, including the purchase of the Copper Center, remodeling of the Activity Center, our SCOV financial position, and open and honest positions on the various issues presented to the community.
Marketing
Our marketing committee researches writes and submits factoids titled “Did You Know” for publication in “This Week in Sun City Oro Valley” (TWISCOV) to show an interesting, little-known side of our community.
