5 types of Committees at SCOV

Board of Directors (BOD)

1. Standing

  • Permanent committee as determined by the SCOV By-Laws.

  • Committee Chair is appointed by the SCOV Board President and approved by the BOD.

  • Membership is determined by the Committee Chair and approved by the SCOV BOD.

  • A BOD’s and staff liaison is assigned to each Standing Committee.

2. Other

  • Permanent committee as determined by the SCOV By-Laws.

  • The Board President appoints members to this type of committee and members are approved by the BOD

  • The Committee chair is elected by the Committee membership from its’ members.

3. Advisory

  • Committee Chair is appointed by the SCOV Board President and approved by the BOD.

  • Membership is determined by the Committee Chair and approved by the SCOV BOD.

  • A BOD’s and staff liaison is assigned to each Advisory Committee.

4. SAS (Service and Support)

  • These Committees are under the direction of the SCOV management

  • The Chairperson is appointed by the General Manager and approved by the SCOV BOD.

  • Membership is determined by the Committee Chair and approved by the SCOV BOD.

  • A staff liaison is appointed by the General Manager

5. Ad Hoc

  • Committees formed for a specific purpose by the SCOV BOD.

  • Contain a BOD and Staff liaison

  • Exist to perform a specific task

  • Committee Chair is appointed by the SCOV Board President and approved by the BOD.

  • Membership is determined by the Committee Chair and approved by the SCOV BOD.

  • Committee is sun-setted upon task completion
